Balance In The Inner Man

1Th 5:23
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Were we created with Balance?

If we were what happened?

Gen 1:26
Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
Gen 1:27
So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Gen 1:31
Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Gen 2:7
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

Gen 2:16

And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat;
Gen 2:17
“but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

Gen 3:6
So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.

Gen 3:7
Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.
Gen 3:8
And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.
Gen 3:9
Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”
Gen 3:10
So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.”
Gen 5:3
And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth.

Eph 2:1

And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,
Eph 2:2
in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,

Eph 2:3
among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

Adam communed (communicated) with God in the garden of Eden in perfect fellowship and harmony. Adam’s heart was totally satisfied as he experienced ultimate reality in fellowship with Him.

There is a Spiritual hunger or heart hunger that the whole of the triune being cries out and wishes to be reconciled with God. Because man’s spirit apart from god is never satisfied.

When Adam sinned his heart separated his soul from his spirit

The Heart is found within the Spirit and soul and is the linking devise between them.

Mar 7:21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
Mar 7:22 “thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness.
Mar 7:23 “All these evil things come from within and defile a man.”

Evil Thoughts and evil eye come from the Instinct or mind area of the Soul.

Adulteries, fornication, and murders are found in the emotion area of the soul

Pride, foolishness, and blasphemy are found in the will area of the soul

Wickedness, Deceits, Thefts, Murders, and covertness come from a combination of two or more areas of the soul.

2Co 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

1Co 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ.
1Co 3:2 I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able;
1Co 3:3 for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?

Prov. 23:7
For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.

The way a person perceives himself, His world, and God will determine how he will live or behave.

Balance of Soul and Spirit (Heart) is the determining factor of what we are, but our environment and our relationship with God determine what we will become.

You are a spiritual being.

You possess a soul.

You live in a body

Mat 11:28 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Mat 11:29 “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Mat 11:30 “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
